When you install an operating system, SATA settings (be it AHCI, RAID, or IDE mode) are detected from the BIOS. Hi, I'm having a problem with Acronis TIH 2010.
I have an array of two hard disks in RAID 0 hooked to the Marvell 9128 SATA3 (6gbps) Controller included in my Gigabyte GA-790XTA-UD4 motherboard.
After creating the rescue boot disk in an usb flash drive, the program doesn't find any hard disks.
Isn't Marvell 9128 SATA controller supported by TIH 2010 yet ?
Or is it just that TIH2010 doesn't support a RAID array created by this controller?

Thanks in advance

You might need a diff set of hardware drivers than is included on the Boot disk. YOu can register your product and download an iso for a diff bootCD file and see if that set of drivers works for you. Otherwise you can build a bartpe bootdisk (this will use windows drivers) or you can contact chat and ind out what info you need to colelct about your pc and send to Acronis so they can gie you a diff iso with diff drivers.

Help please - Marvell 9128 Disk Controller not being detected. In Drivers and Hardware Hi, I have a Gigabyte GA-X58A UD7 Rev. 2 motherboard which has a Marvell 9128 SATA 3 disk controller on it. I have RAID setup on this controller and use it for XP and Win 7 x64.

Couldn't I just get a reply in this thread from anyone at Acronis saying if this SATA controller is or is not supported by the drivers of the standard boot disk created by TIH 2010 ?

Thanks

You could try but there are so many diff possble combo of chipsets, firmware, hardware, cpus, etc,. that it's not likely anyone can say what works on all of them. It's a question of whether your paticence exceeds your need for a result.

Acronis provides a number of options for making bootable media (Linux versions, plug-in for BartPE, WinPE if you have the Plus Pack). A BartPE or WinPE version may well provide the hardware driver support you need. But you have to be willing to make the effort to build these - Acronis can't do it for you.

Since you have already tried the first pass - bootable media builder version - and it doesn't find any hard disks, what specific confirmation from Acronis do you need to tell you that it does not work with your particular hardware? It obviously doesn't work. This is why Acronis provides options for different versions of bootable media, so you can make a version which does work.

Also, there is a process to follow to get a customized boot disk from Acronis. Did you try this? Here is the section, from page 31 of the User's Guide:

4.3. Creating a custom rescue CD
If the recovery environment cannot detect some of the hard disk drives or the network adapter, usually there is a problem with the drivers. Acronis rescue CD cannot contain drivers for all hardware on the market. So when the standard rescue CD lacks some of your hardware drivers, you need to create a custom one.

The Linux-based recovery environment used by Acronis does not provide the ability for users to add new drivers. Because of this, you should request Acronis Customer Service Department to create a custom rescue CD that will have all the drivers you need.

Before making a request, collect the information about your system. Select Generate System Report in the Help menu. Acronis True Image Home will automatically collect the required information and display a list of what is collected in the report. In the process of creating the report the program may install some components required for collecting the necessary information. When the report is complete, click Save As and select the desired folder or leave the default My Documents folder. The program will archive the report into a zip file. Send the file to the Acronis Customer Service Department. They will build an iso image of a custom rescue media compatible with your computer hardware and send you an iso file. Burn this file to a CD/DVD using a program that can handle iso files such as Nero. Incidentally, this report may also be useful when you request the Acronis Customer Service Department to help you with a problem.

After burning your custom rescue CD, test it to make sure that your hard disk drives and network adapter are now detected in the recovery environment.

This pertains to TI Home 2011

In section 8.4 of the manual 'Creating a custom rescue CD' says
'Send the system report file to the Acronis Customer Service Department'
I cannot find an e-mail address stating how to do this. I checked the forum items 5850, 11071 and 4828 which were related but provided no answer. No. 5850 from 2009-11-08 asked the same question but an answer was never supplied.

Is this 'custom rescue disk' a hoax or scam?

I did this and got CHAT which was not active, then got to a support screen where I filled out a request. I have also sent requests to other e-mail addresses with no results. This 'Hardy' nonsense sent me to post No. 5850 from 2009-11-08 which asked the same question and was never answered.
